The Sleaze

The trust of the innocent is the liar’s most useful tool
Oct 6

Whatever you might want to call McLiar, one thing is certain: he’s not a man of peace. With the world in turmoil in Afghanistan, Georgia, Iraq and Iran, the only thing Johnny Maverick knows how to do is pull the trigger. And with no significant notice to the American people, new military policies formulated under Georgie Porgie’s watch make it likely that it will be a nuclear trigger. Here’s the whole ugly truth about the next Republican war:

McLiar Has No Heart

Ann and Nancy Wilson, the founders of Heart, are mad at McLiar. Not just a little bit mad, they’re intensely bitch-slapping pissed off mad. They never gave him permission to use their song “Barracuda” to pimp Sarah Paliar. When they asked his campaign publicly to stop using the song, he said noooooo we paid license fees. So now all the license fees paid for that song are going straight to Obama’s campaign fund. Yup Mr. Maverick, every time you play it you’re paying for another Obama TV ad.

Full Text:

Dear John McCain,

When we first learned your campaign was using our admittedly awesome 1977 classic “Barracuda” to introduce your terrifying joke of a running mate, we tried to be civil. As we wrote in our press release, “The Republican campaign did not ask for permission, nor would they have been granted that permission. We have asked the Republican campaign publicly not to use our music.”

Unfortunately, you continue to blast “Barracuda” in defiance of our wishes. God knows why we thought you’d listen to us, two strong, creative women. I guess we’re all just “trollop-faced cunts” to you. (Speaking of Cindy, who can blame her for hitting the pills? We’d need a demerol epidural to live through five minutes of her conjugal duties. You sloshing your saggy ass between her legs and chomping at her breasts with your little yellow teeth. We’d rather rim Meat Loaf. Seriously.)

Use work by your own party’s goddamn members, like Chuck Norris’s motivational tapes, or Mel Gibson’s audio book of “Mein Kampf”, or Bill Engvall’s Grammy-winning comedy CD “Can’t Keep My Wang Out o’ the Goat!” Just leave us the fuck out of it.

In the meantime, we’ll be donating 100 percent of the licensing fees from “Barracuda” to Barack Obama. Seriously.

Up yours,

Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart

I finally understand why McLiar likes to use the word maverick to describe himself. He loves to gamble! Yup, old Johnny boy can roll the dice and turn the cards with the best of them, just like Bret Maverick.

A lifelong gambler, Mr. McCain takes risks, both on and off the craps table. He was throwing dice that night not long after his failed 2000 presidential bid, in which he was skewered by the Republican Party’s evangelical base, opponents of gambling. Mr. McCain was betting at a casino he oversaw as a member of the Senate Indian Affairs Committee, and he was doing so with the lobbyist who represents that casino, according to three associates of Mr. McCain.

Politicians since George Washington have faced negative campaigns. Finding the right response to the dirty tricks, half-truths and outright lies is never easy. Al Franken’s approach is one of the best ever, just point a finger at your opponent’s propaganda and laugh.

The smile, the wink, the talent portion, it’s all absolutely right on and totally hilarious. Nobody can send up Sarah Paliar like Tina Fey, and she NAILS her to the wall, although I’m not sure she matched her nails. Thanks Tina! And a big sleazy shout out to Ronald Reagan too, thanks Ronnie! Maverick!

Besides representing the only possibility for real change, Obama is out-spending McLiar by an almost 3 to 1 ratio. This is paying direct dividends as Obama pulls ahead in the polls: he’s leading 50.2% to 42.5% as of October 3rd. If current trends continue, we may be looking at an historic landslide in November.

The Non-Debate

Thursday night’s performance was a series of sound bites, not a debate. There was no real interaction between the candidates, just short answers to simple questions asked by the moderator. It doesn’t seem to matter to anyone that some of questions weren’t answered at all.

Judging “how the candidates did” is rather like weighing in on the wittiness of the libretto of “Big Brother” or the pace of character development in the latest episode of “Keeping up with the Kardashians.” The genre of the political review assumes that both candidates are credible in their roles. It becomes self-parody when one candidate is a ditzy nonentity cynically foisted on the public in the same way a ‘reality show’ is, based on a targeted demographic and without regard to quality.

Spend McLiar’s Money

There’s an easy way to make an impact on the McLiar campaign: spend his ad money for him. It’s very simple. Every ad you see on the internet costs the advertiser a set amount each time someone clicks on the ad. All you have to do is click one time on every McLiar ad you see.

Some of you might think that clicking more than once would be a good idea, but it’s not. Multiple clicks on the same ad are a big red flag to advertising agencies, and they don’t charge the advertiser when that happens. So next time you’re reading the news, keep your eye out for McLiar ads and have some fun!

It’s getting harder and harder for Republican liars to fool the American people. Last night in the debate Paliar said that Obama wants to “wave a white flag of surrender.” We all know that’s a lie, just look at the audience response to that statement:

McLiar Quits Michigan

McLiar is acknowledging that he has lost the election in Michigan, a key battleground state. Nothing he could say or do will fool the people there, and he’s giving up the game. We’ve all heard the lies before, and they just don’t work any more. Enquiring minds want to know which state he’ll quit next.

John McCain is ending his attempt to win Michigan, a serious blow to the Republican’s presidential hopes. “The operations will be scaled back but we’ll still be in place in Michigan,” Mike DuHaime, political director the McCain-Palin national campaign confirmed in a conference call with national reporters late Thursday. He said staff assigned to Michigan will be shifted to Maine, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania which show greater promise for McCain.

DuHaime said the McCain camp has no plans to do any further TV advertising in Michigan, but added: “We are monitoring the state and if it swings back in our favor we will be reengaged.” Chuck Yob, a co-chair of Michigan’s campaign, disagreed with the decision to toss in the Michigan towel. “I don’t think it’s a very good decision. I think they’re wrong,” said Yob, a longtime Republican activist in West Michigan.
